Alice's Story: Change Starts with a Cuppa

Every week, Alice visits our mobile van for a warm cup of coffee and a moment of connection. Born with Cerebral Palsy, Alice survives on a disability support pension from Centrelink.

After her husband left her for another woman, she faced the daunting challenge of trying to secure support from the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme).

Her initial application was rejected, leaving her feeling defeated and a little lost. When Alice first came to us and told us her story, we sat down - over a comforting cup of coffee and decided to give it another try.

Navigating the NDIS is a complex, long and overwhelming process as many of us know, but each visit, Alice sipped her coffee, and we persevered with her application.

Over the weeks, we had helped Alice complete the complicated forms, gather the necessary health records, and submit everything correctly.

Late last year, after weeks of perseverance and connection, Alice received the elated news that her application had been accepted. Her life has changed forever thanks to a little persistence and a lot of support.

Each cup of coffee represented a step towards a brighter future for Alice. Alice's story is a testament to the power of connection and the impact of a simple cuppa in transforming lives.

Help us bring warmth and hope to more women like Alice. Donate today and be part of the change – one cup at a time.
